Project Name Temporary Shelter Services
Project Description The agency assists homeless, runaway and at-risk youth to enable them to become independent, productive and contributing members of society.  Services are focused intently on homeless and at-risk youth, ages 16-21, for which other resources do not exist.  The service framework of the agency includes outreach, emergency shelter and transitional housing along with support services ranging from education, employment and counseling services to life skills training, recreational activities and community service projects.
Eligibility Criteria The agency’s Open Intake policy dictates that clients have access to all programs through self-referral and are not required to obtain a formal recommendation from another service provider or their service history.  The agency accepts youth between the ages of 16-21 regardless of their mental health status or substance abuse history. There are no limitations of service eligibility based on gender or income. CHMO serves youth who are outside of the foster care, juvenile justice, or mental health systems.
