Project Name Kirkwood School District Mental Health Services


Project Description The agency provides 8 Educational Support Counselors throughout the Kirkwood School District.  The counselors work closely with school personnel to offer counseling and case management and resources to help keep families functioning, keep children in school, and provide a foundation of potential academic and personal success.

Project Name School Consultation Service


Project Description

BJC BH have a staff certified as a Facilitator and Coach in High Fidelity Wraparound that will do Consultation Services in the Special School District. BJC BH staff will coach school teams on the wraparound process and facilitate linkage with appropriate treatment that reaches beyond the scope of the school or therapeutic classroom. Consultations with SSD teams will improve the fidelity of the teams to evidence based practices.

 

Fidelity Wraparound is an evidence based practice described as a facilitation of the student and family's goals within a family support team. The purpose is to support  and empower the youth and families through specific steps to address any future mental health issues and achieve the family's goals.

Project Name Expansion of Child Psychiatric Services


Project Description The activities of this program include a comprehensive assessment with an agreed upon treatment plan with the client and psychiatrist.  This program includes continued treatment sessions until symptoms are resolved and/or stability is reached and medication management is longer required.


Service Area Outpatient Psychiatric Services
Project Name Expansion of Children's Services Delivery System


Project Description The core services include screening, assessment and intensive case management.  The latter also includes The High Fidelity Wraparound evidenced-based practice model.

The agency provides both direct therapy and case management services for deaf and hard of hearing children.  Qualified clinicians have the ability to communicate directly with deaf and hard of hearing clients without the use of an interpreter.

 

This project expanded the availability of Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy to assist clients through individual and group therapies.


This project have been expanded to include staff are working with the University of Missouri Saint Louis (UMSL) in intensive certified training in this trauma informed care model and evidence based practice. Modules includes psycho-education, relaxation, affect regulation, behavior management, cognitive restructuring and gradual exposure to traumatic memories.
